Synd att dom är 34mm bara och alldeles för små, har faktiskt börjat digga dom lite ovanligre tavelvarianterna, ,Marcus på RobE hade en cool perpetual oxå i lite bättre storlek (36mm) görs sig MYCKET bättre IRL än på bild.....

"This is the entry level Rolex model addressed to people who are inclined to spend a "fortune" on a watch. This watch has an unprecedented historical value in the Rolex Oyster Perpetual range since it was used by British aviators in WWII. Apparently the Air-King was the watch of choice for battle of Britain fighter pilots and Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex was so moved by the brave British pilots that decided to honour them with a new line of manual wind Oysters.
While the Oyster Royal line existed already before the war Rolex began producing larger watches coding them with names like "Air Tiger," "Air Lion," "Air Giant," and "Air King."

What was then considered a large dial - 32 to 33 mm diameter - is now small in comparison, as most Rolex sports models feature a 40 mm or larger dials.The Air line of watches remained in production until the early 1960s. In the end only the Air-King survived and was eventually fitted with an automatic movement.

The Air-King is not as fancy or as over-engineered as some other Rolex watches yet it is an elegant watch and most importantly has a great history behind it. I believe that it is one of the most overlooked watches out of the Oyster Perpetual range although it deserves more attention by prospective buyers. Today the current Air-King model range even comes with COSC certification. They have also recently been redesigned with new dials and bracelets.

Tycker air-king är riktiga roliga och stilrena. Går alltid att hitta för en billig peng och får därför sällan så mycket utrymme hos intresserade då folk gärna hoppar över air-king för de finare (läs dyrare) modellerna. Skiljer fan inte många tusenlappar mellan typ en tissot vissodate och en härlig air-king från 60/70-talet. Kanske som att jämföra äpplen med päron men fortfarande en rolig klocka som inte ruinerar än fullständigt

Nja de ser riktigt billiga ut. Jag gillar inte siffrorna och det är likadant på explorer. 3-6-9 är snyggt men de skall vara målade i så fall.

Jag gillar den gamla air-kingen mer, tycker den ser cleanare ut. Här är en bild på frugans minst sagt sparsamt använda 14000M
som vi köpte 2011 (tror jag), då hade den legat osåld hos AD:n i 4 år.

Står i valet och kvalet mellan en DJ och en AK. Som present till mig själv när jag fyller 30 nästa år. Då jag har riktiga flickhandleder, på 17 cm. Så sitter båda modellerna bra. Har en vintage Tärnan-dressare på 35mm som sitter perfekt.
Känns som ett angenämt problem.

Inte så konstigt då att 35mm Tärnan sitter perfekt. Samtidigt som 39mm Longines Hydroconquest ser sportigt oversized ut.

Tur att jag håller dressrolex före pannor och Breitling. Inget ont om 38mm colt och SOH 38an, som är de enda jag provat på armen. Där jag behöll någon som helst värdighet.

För att gå back to topic. Kan inte ni bära rolex AK. Köp en till mamma eller till kvinnan i ert liv. Då jag tycker att Ak förtjänar sin plats i historien och i produktkatalogen.
